Rated to remove particles as small as 0.2 microns, a UF membrane is the closest available to RO without the need for a drain. It removes microscopic impurities. The UF membrane consists of a semipermeable membrane wound around the perforated tube. Product water diffuses through the membrane while impurities become trapped in the membrane. No wastewater and no tank are required.
